The Classroom
This story doesn't start in a cockpit. It starts at a classroom desk.
ATPL theory phase, same course, same bench: Dominic, twelve years in product development and sourcing in the creative industry, before choosing to fly. Timothy, off to an ice hockey boarding school at 14, first pro contract at 20 — and mechanical engineering studies with a focus on materials science in parallel. Two completely different paths — and the same wavelength from day one.
At some point it was clear: we wanted to build something together, not just study together.
The Problem
Then came the first training flights. The first solos. And with them a problem we both shared: our glasses simply weren't built for the cockpit. Temples too wide and too stiff — the noise cancelling of our headsets couldn't seal, and that pressure on the temples flew with us every hour. Two people, one annoyance — and one question: why doesn't something better exist?
The Lunch Room
The annoyance became an idea, lunch breaks became concept sessions. Brand name, personas, branding: our flight school's break room became the first solaero office. It all properly began in April/May 2025.
The name came first: SOL — the sun. AIR — the atmosphere. The two elements flying lives between. solaero.
Made for Pilots. Built by Pilots.
Worn by everyone who calls the sky home.

"Functional equipment, engineered for every pilot. Not just the ones with the biggest budget."
