Acetate front on a titanium core

NOMÆD, VÆCTOR and SKYMÆSTER pair an acetate front with the same beta-titanium core every solaero frame carries. That is not a cheaper version, it is a decision.

Why acetate at all

Metal cannot do depth. Transparent and marbled fronts only exist in acetate, because the material is built up in layers and then cut back. Acetate also sits warmer on the skin than metal — a noticeable difference in winter. And it allows stronger shapes: the trapezoid edge of VÆCTOR or the browline brow of SKYMÆSTER would not be possible in thin metal.

The core stays titanium

Temples and hinges are beta-titanium. That means the same flexibility under a headset, the same elastic recovery, the same hypoallergenic contact points. Only the front is different.

The sizes

VÆCTOR measures 54 millimetres lens width and, at 23 grams, is the most substantial frame in the range. SKYMÆSTER sits at 50 millimetres and 22 grams, NOMÆD at 49 millimetres and 20 grams.

All three with UV400 lenses, filter category 3, anti-reflective, scratch-resistant and non-polarised.
