PILOTENSONNENBRILLEN

Sonnenbrillen für das Cockpit unterscheiden sich in drei Punkten von Sonnenbrillen für den Strand: Sie dürfen Instrumentendisplays nicht abdunkeln, sie müssen stundenlang unter einem Headset sitzen, ohne zu drücken, und sie müssen bei zunehmender Höhenstrahlung zuverlässig UV filtern. Unsere sechs Modelle sind auf diese drei Punkte gebaut.

Sechs Modelle, ein Kern

Jede solaero-Fassung ist um denselben Kern gebaut: Beta-Titan, UV400-Gläser der Filterkategorie 3, entspiegelt und kratzfest beschichtet, bewusst nicht polarisiert. Was sich unterscheidet, ist die Form.

CAPTÆN und STRÆTOS sind die großen Fassungen — Tropfenform und kantige Linien, beide 100 % Beta-Titan, 20 und 19 Gramm. HÆLO ist die filigranste und mit 17 Gramm die leichteste unserer Kollektion. NOMÆD, VÆCTOR und SKYMÆSTER verbinden eine Acetatfront mit dem Titankern: rund, trapezförmig und mit Browline-Kante.

Alle Modelle sind unisex geschnitten, mit Glasbreiten von 49 bis 58 Millimetern und einheitlich 145 Millimeter Bügellänge. Die vollständigen Maße stehen auf jeder Produktseite — gemessen, nicht gerundet.

Warum unsere Pilotensonnenbrillen nicht polarisiert sind

Die meisten als Pilotenbrillen verkauften Sonnenbrillen sind polarisiert. Im Cockpit ist das ein Nachteil: LCD- und LED-Displays enthalten selbst Polarisationsfilter, und zwei übereinanderliegende Filter können das Display je nach Blickwinkel abdunkeln. Die FAA rät Piloten in ihren Sehhilfe-Richtlinien von polarisierten Gläsern ab. Kein Verbot, aber eine Empfehlung.

Unsere Gläser sind deshalb nicht polarisiert. Durch Filterkategorie 3 filtern sie bis zu 85 % des sichtbaren Lichts und blockieren UV-Strahlung bis 400 Nanometer.

Der Bügel ist das eigentliche Problem

Ein Headset drückt den Bügel gegen die Seite des Kopfes. Nach zwei Stunden spürt man es, nach sechs bestimmt es alles. Unsere Bügel bestehen aus Beta-Titan: flexibel genug, um sich der Kopfform anzupassen, mit genug Rückstellkraft, um diese Form zu halten. Hypoallergen und nickelfrei, denn acht Stunden Hautkontakt sollten kein Kompromiss sein.

Welches Modell fürs Cockpit

CAPTÆN ist die klassische Tropfenform, 20 Gramm, mit dem größten Sichtfeld der Kollektion bei 49,5 mm Glashöhe. STRÆTOS setzt dem eckige Linien entgegen, 19 Gramm. HÆLO ist mit 17 Gramm die leichteste Fassung und die schmalste Wahl. Alle drei haben Front und Bügel aus 100 % Beta-Titan.
